Year 7 French Curriculum
- Talking about likes and dislikes
- Describing yourself and others
- Talking about school, subjects/timetable (in France and in England) the school day, food
- Talking about new technology, sports and activities
- Saying what you like to do
- Talking about your town/village, giving directions, at the theme park and other places in town
- Holiday plans, getting ready to go out, ideal holiday activities/what might they do in different resorts
- Animals, poetry and art
- Pupils look at authentic materials from the French culture e’g poems, stories, video clips to learn about France
Year 8 French Curriculum
- All about leisure activities e.g. TV, cinema, reading, internet and other leisure activities
- All about Paris, tourist information, le 14 juillet using the past tense. Important cultural facts in French History
- My character, relationships, music preferences, clothes and colours, different tenses
- Where you live, talking about your home, meals, food, festivals in France
- Pupils will do research in school and at home to support their learning on this topic area
- Talking about talent and ambition (including their own) speaking about personalities (using adjectives)
- The French speaking world and French history. Extra curricular activities involved e.g. Geography/History
Year 9 French Curriculum
- Describing yourself, talking about Facebook, inviting someone out/a date, describing a musical event
- Parts of the body, sports and keeping fit, healthy eating, use of 2 tenses
- Life skills and discussion on personal health
- Discussing the future, learning a language, jobs and ambitions. (unusual jobs, jobs abroad etc.)
- Discussing holidays, imagining adventure holidays, disaster holidays, visiting a tourist attraction
- Discussing your rights, priorities, shopping, what makes you happy (important global matters)
- Talking about friends, family, making arrangements to go out, discussing role models
